January 1, 2000 Hello Family and Friends, First of all, we hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday season and a very happy and safe New Year! We are very excited about the wedding, especially the fact that we get to have all of our favorite people in one place all at the same time. For those of you who may not have heard (and thanks to those of you who have for your patience!), we searched long and hard for a wedding venue that spoke to us. In the end, we found this wonderful, great old sea captains house on Stage Harbor in Chatham where we will host all of the wedding events mentioned on the previous page. Our intent in planning a weekend of events is to be able to visit and celebrate with everyone in a fun, casual and relaxing environment, so we hope that you will join us for as much of the weekend as possible. Chatham is a quaint little town right on the "elbow" of the Cape. It takes about 1.5 - 2 hours to drive there from either Boston or Providence (traffic? what traffic?). There are lots of restaurants, galleries and stores in town, and of course, beautiful beaches right on the Atlantic Ocean. We will most likely be organizing a "best-ball" golf tournament at one of the local courses for Saturday, but there are also plenty of other recreational activities in the area for you to enjoy. Please consult http://www.chathamcapecod.org/ for a preview. Unfortunately, we are not the only people that think Chatham is a beautiful place to be in the summer. We strongly encourage you to make your hotel reservations now (by the beginning of February, if not sooner). It is not the policy of many hotels and inns in Chatham to block rooms for weddings, since they have no problem filling them with regular tourists. However, the places mentioned on the following pages currently have availability for June 23 and 24. We have tried to provide a range of room rates that are as reasonable as possible and the accommodations are listed by proximity to the Bovey House. The farther away from town you go, the lower the room rates are. If there are enough people staying at common locations, we will most likely offer a shuttle service to and from the house on the night of the wedding. For a full listing of local inns and hotels, please visit http://www.chathamcapecod.org/lodging/index.html - Anchor-11481 Our Website (business.fortunecity.com/wrigley/16/) contains the schedule of events, as well as links to Mapquest for directions and Expedia for help in choosing your accommodations. We will be updating it periodically, so please check it out every once in a while for new information. Also if your address is changing before April, please let us know, so that the invitations will go to the correct address. We look forward to seeing everyone, and rain or shine, it promises to be a wonderful weekend. If you have any questions in the meantime, please feel free to call us at 617-267-4641. Best Wishes, Pam and Chris |
